Fresenius Kabi Biosimilars team planted trees in Switzerland

The Fresenius Kabi Biosimilars Business Unit organized a tree planting initiative to engage with the local community and to make a positive impact on the environment.
Around 40 enthusiastic employees set off to the forest in Gimel, near the Eysins office in the Swiss Canton Vaud, to plant 200 oak trees. They teamed up with a Swiss-based sustainability startup, and the regional foresters, who sourced the trees from a local cultivator.
On site, the Biosimilars colleagues were introduced to the local forest and the benefits of well-planned biodiversity for the environment and humanity.
“We are truly excited that Fresenius Kabi is engaging locally to make a positive impact on the environment and the local community. In line with our philosophy “caring for life”, this unique experience demonstrates our long-term commitment to society and future generations while enabling us to deepen our teamwork, trust and camaraderie”, said Christiane Kempers, Director Global Communications Biosimilars, and Vanessa Langer, Patent Paralegal, Culture & Business Coordinator, two of Fresenius Kabi’s lead organizers of this event.
Despite the cold conditions, the team spirit was high, and the 200 trees were planted across a selected and prepared zone. Admiring the hard work, the team finished up the afternoon with a short quiz testing the knowledge of what was learned about the forest and the environment.
“I am glad that I got the chance to participate in this amazing outdoor activity. I am so proud that I could make a difference not only in our day-to-day activity but also outside the office,” mentioned one participant.
